Chelating Metal Ions in a Metal-Organic Framework for Constructing a Biomimetic Catalyst Through Post-modification

Crystal engineering, as a burgeoning technology, has been widely used to construct metalloporphyrins biomimetic catalysts. Herein, a bimetallic metal-organic framework (MOF) was constructed by 4-(4-carboxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazole ligand, Co²⁺ and Zr⁴⁺ metal ions by solvothermal reaction(named PFC-88). A N,N-chelation site was found between the two adjacent ligands in PFC-88, consequently a porphyrin-like structure was obtained through chelating Fe³⁺ in this site by post-modification, named PFC-88-Fe. The result of a single crystal X-ray technology verified that Fe ions were successfully metalated in the N,N-chelation site of PFC-88, which is assisted by the X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES) spectra. An o-phenylenediamine oxidation reaction was applied to assessing the catalytic activity of PFC-88-Fe, in which the absorbance increases of phenazine-2,3-diamine at λ=418 nm were recorded by absorption spectroscopy in kinetic mode, exhibiting the application potential as a biomimetic catalyst.

General Decay for a Thermoelastic Problem of a Microbeam with Gurtin-Pipkin Thermal Law

In this paper, we study the well-posedness and the asymptotic stability of a one-dimensional thermoelastic microbeam system, where the heat conduction is given by Gurtin-Pipkin thermal law. We first establish the well-posedness of the system by using the semigroup arguments and Lumer-Phillips theorem. We then obtain an explicit and general formula for the energy decay rates through perturbed energy method and some properties of the convex functions.     

Quantized-states-based adaptive control against unknown slippage effects of uncertain mobile robots with input and state quantization

An adaptive tracking design strategy based on quantized state feedback is developed for uncertain nonholonomic mobile robots with unknown wheel slippage effects. All state variables and control torques are assumed to be quantized by the state and input quantizers, respectively, in a network control environment. Thus, the quantized state feedback information is only available for the tracking control design. An approximation-based adaptive controller using quantized states is recursively designed to ensure the robust adaptive tracking against unknown wheel slippage effects where the quantized-states-based adaptive mechanism is derived to compensate for unknown wheel slippage effects, system nonlinearities, and quantization errors. The boundedness of the quantization errors and estimated parameters in the closed-loop system is analyzed by presenting some theoretical lemmas. Based on these lemmas, we prove the uniform ultimate boundedness of closed-loop signals and the convergence of the trajectory tracking error in the presence of wheel slippage effects. Simulations verify the effectiveness of the resulting tracking scheme.     

Orientation dependence in high harmonics of ZnO with polarization corrections to counteract the birefringent effect

We investigate the influence of the birefringence on the high-order harmonics in an a-cut Zn O crystal with midinfrared laser pulses. The high harmonics exhibit strong dependence on the alignment of the crystal with respect to the laser polarization. We introduce the Jones calculus to counteract the birefringent effect and obtain the harmonics with polarization corrections in Zn O. We show that the birefringent effect plays an important role in the orientation dependence of HHG.
